Life Day Treasury – Review

Star Wars books has had some fun in the last few years exploring stories from inside the galaxy far, far away. The first book was Myths & Fables, giving readers a taste of the kinds of things tales people might share with their children. The second book in the series was Dark Legends, stories one might heard told around a camp fire on Vandor to scare a friend or fellow scoundrel. Now Star Wars fans can enjoy holiday stories from all over the galaxy in Star Wars: Life Day Treasury: Holiday Stories From A Galaxy Far, Far Away.

Like the previous books in the series it contains art from Grant Griffin. Joining him again as author is George Mann, with the addition of Cavan Scott. The books consists of eight stories. There are some true highlights in the book with A Coruscant Solstice telling of a holiday adventure for Stellan Gios from The High Republic era and An Old Hope giving insight into droids beliefs about the holidays.

The best part of the book is that the binding is the same size as Myths & Fables. Sadly it means that Dark Legends looks odd next to its counterparts on the shelf. There is one slight annoyance with the printing, while the pages have the same deckled edges as the previous books, the paper itself is not the same quality or color of the previous books. It is frustrating that these books could not be more consistent in presentation. Regardless, Life Day Treasury is a neat addition to any fan’s library and is rated 3.75 out of 5 stars.
