Star Wars: Myths & Fables – Review

What The Tales of Beedle the Bard was for J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter universe, Myths & Fables is for the Star Wars universe. The book consists of nine different tales, each one falling into the category of fable, legend, morality tale, ghost story or some combination of the four. The book is written by George Mann, who is able to capture the essence of the Star Wars galaxy through each story. It feels like a book that parents on any planet would pull off their shelf and read to their children before bed.

The presentation of the book is gorgeous. The art inside from Grant Griffin is stunning and adds so much to each story, this truly is a work of love. The book embraces George Lucas’ vision for Star Wars, in using stories to teach and to guide, while at the same time being fun. If you have children, this is a book to share with them, if you are not a parent, this book is still worth your time. There are some fun stories in here about ancient Sith, one about a knight you might recognize from the Legends line and a droid general that truly stand out. Myths & Fables is rated 4 out of 5 stars.
