Rebel Starfighters: Owners’ Workshop Manual – Review

One the biggest parts of any science fiction franchise are the ships and Star Wars is no exception. Over the last few years, Haynes, know for their repair manuals for earth vehicles, has brought fans the complete manuals for the Millennium Falcon, the Death Star and Tie Fighters. They have just released a brand new manual devoted to the starfighters of the Rebel Alliance and the Resistance.

The book is structured like The Jedi Path, in that, it is presented as an in-universe manual. There is a letter from Princess Leia that works as an introduction to the book. It was sent to Mon Mothma during the rebellion about the different fighters available to the Rebellion. Each ship also has an introduction from a person or historical document connected with it. The history of each ship has been meticulously researched from the conception of the starfighter, though each iteration of that vessel. There are also specification, views, control and cockpit pages for each ship.

Prolific Star Wars author Ryder Windham has provided the text for the book and the art is by Chris Trevas. Their attention to detail has lead to the most comprehensive guide for Alliance and Resistance fighters you can get as a fan. If you want to know everything there is to know about theses ships, this book is a must have. Rebel Starfighters is rated 4 out of 5 stars.
