The Skywalker Saga – Review

Since it’s release in 1977, Star Wars has been part of the lives of so many people since birth. Kids grow up with Star Wars: ABCs books, Little Golden books, a kids Youtube channel devoted to Star Wars, but now there is a perfect way for parents and children to share the Saga together; Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga by Delilah Dawson.

This storybook is the tale of the Skywalker family. Each story is told mainly through the perspective of Anakin, Luke and Rey respectively. By doing this, Dawson is able to focus the stories and give them a more fairy-tale feel. Dawson is able to capture the spirit and essence of each chapter while at the same time making it easily understandable to readers as young as four.  Along the way, illustrator Brian Rood’s beautiful art punctuates each part the story perfectly. In fact, his art would be incredible to see in a larger format, on posters or lithographs. This truly is the Star Wars bedtime storybook for everyone.

The only disappointing thing about the collection is that it is not the full Saga with The Rise of Skywalker around the corner, this edition is soon to be replaced by one that makes the circle complete. It is a little strange that this book is not being released, with all nine during Christmas, when it would be the perfect gift. Never the less, it is still a wonderful addition to any fan-family’s library. The Skywalker Saga is rated 4 out of 5 stars.
