Roundup: Shadow Trooper Pre-Order, Hera Syndulla Figure, and More!

The weekend is finally upon us, bringing with it time to relax, recharge and catch up with the latest Star Wars news and updates. Before the roundup begins, make sure to check out the current slashed prices for the holiday season. Following the madness behind Black Friday and Cyber Monday, many toys and other merchandise are still on sale, so if you’re in desperate need to find a gift at an affordable price, there is still time.

ThinkGeek has a few items on sale, including Star Wars Gingerbread Cookie CuttersR2-D9 USB Car Charger, and Her Universe’s Star Wars Symbol Infinity Scarf.

Her Universe clothes are still 20% off at Hot Topic, including the latest items, such as the Star Wars Symbol Cardigan and Doctor Who TARDIS Fair Isle Dress. The Her Universe shop also has plenty of clothes on sale, including the charming cosplay tunics.

Star Wars Rebels Mission Series Hera Syndulla 3.75 Figure

Star Wars Rebels supervising director and executive producer Dave Filoni made a wild appearance on social media to generate excitement in the fan community. Recently, he posted a picture of the Hera Syndulla figure everyone desperately wants to add to their collections. Though no solid date is available, the Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren figures will debut in 2015.

Some want to see both Hera and Sabine as single-carded figures as well as in more merchandise. For example, pre-orders are available for Gentle Giant’s Star Wars Rebels Stormtrooper, but some fans (including myself) have expressed more interest in having a maquette of Sabine and Hera. Here’s hoping that change comes soon!

Wear Star Wars Share Star Wars Day

Friday, December 19, 2014, is the fifth annual “Wear Star Wars Share Star Wars” Day! Looking to join the fun, stand up to bullying, and do something good for the holidays? Here’s what you have to do:

1. Wear something Star Wars or science fiction-related.

2. Donate a Star Wars or science fiction toy to a child in need (but please put a post-it note on the new, unwrapped toy specifying that it can go to a girl or a boy; otherwise, these traditional “boy toys” will be given only to boys). Take the toy to a hospital, a shelter, or any charitable organization collecting toys.

3. Join Wear Star Wars 2014 on Facebook and participate on Twitter with the hashtag #WearStarWars2014. (via Chicago Now)

Marvel’s Star Wars #1 Action Figure Variant Cover

star-wars-kenner-variantPREVIEWSworld shared an exclusive look at the latest variant cover for Marvel’s Star Wars #1. Fans of the classic Kenner action figure cardbacks will absolutely love the variant cover for the new comic book series, coming out January 14, 2015.

Drawn by John Tyler Christopher, the action figure cover is one of the most creative and beautifully drawn covers of the first issue. There are other adorable and humorous covers by fan favorite artists, but the Kenner action figure cover is, by far, my favorite.

If you plan to collect them all, check out Jedi-Bibliothek, a German site and my number one source for Star Wars books and comics. There, you’ll find a comprehensive list of the many variant covers available for this issue as well as future issues. (via Rebelscum)
