Butler, sit down to discuss the recent news about the Story Group, and how it is taking George Lucas’s place as the definer of CANON. They also explore Volume 4 of Star Wars Legacy: Alliance. So strap in and tighten your crash webbing Fandom, Star Wars Beyond the Films is setting off on another rapid-fire trip into the galaxy far, far away!
This week Mark and Nathan start off by discussing the not so recent tweets about the new Story Group, and what that means, as well as the potential ramifications for the films, the EU, and Canon in general. That covers the first 22 minutes of this week’s episode. At 23 minutes in they have more details and prizes for their 100th Episode Celebration Contest.
Their SPOILER-FREE review of Star Wars: Legacy: Alliance starts at 25:25 into the episode and runs till 33 minutes in, then they jump deep into spoiler territory, just be sure to jump off at their spoiler warning “Tarkin’s Arrogance.’
They Ponder things like: How did the Galactic Alliance survive the Battle of Caamas? And can they possible survive their attempt to claim the Imperious? And, isn’t that THE HONDO KARR Mark keeps ranting about?
Issue 22 we see the Wrath of the Dragon, and what leads the Mon Calmari people to the fate that we see in Legacy Volume 2. Ever ponder how Dac became a wasteland? Well learn more!
And jumping forward to issue 27 we see Darth Wyyrlok take on Darth Andeddu in an attempt to save his Master, Emperor Krayt’s life. And we also learn that Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious weren’t so successful at rounding up ALL Sith lore apparently. It’s just TOO HARD to wipe out the Sith or the Jedi it would seem.
