The Clone Wars Weekly Roundup

Greetings Troops, and welcome to this week’s TCW Weekly Roundup.

After taking a break last week because of a relative lack of news, we are back and we are back big, so let’s jump right in.

For kids, collectors and those young at heart McDonalds has started including a new set of Star Wars The Clone Wars Toys in Happy Meals. There are six toys in total. A Walking AT-TE, Anakin Skywalker’s Lightsaber, Mace Windu’s Lightsaber, Yoda’s Lightsaber, Yoda Levitator and a C-3PO Keeper. All six toys either move, light up or make a sound.

Massively has an interesting scoop on the Mon Calamari episodes for next season as well as some news regarding The Clone Wars Adventures on-line game. Apparently, The Clone Wars Adventures will feature a prequel story to the Season 4 Invasion of Mon Calamari story line, that will feature Plo Koon, Commander Wolffe, the Wolfpack, and a place in the Mon Cal system called Iceberg 3. The key nugget for TCW television fans is what we learn about how many episodes will be in the story line and when they will air.

It all leads up to what starts beginning of season four. When players watch the first three episodes of season four they’ll recognize that it fits with what happens in the game.”

So it looks like we will be getting a full born Mon Cal Trilogy as the season premier for Season 4 of TCW. I am very excited and can’t wait to see Ackbar in action.

On Cartoon Network Friday July 22 (airing the weekend of Comic-Con) at 7 p.m. will be premiering a 30-minute television special entitled, Lego Star Wars: The Padawan Menace. The story is set during the Clone Wars, and I would not be surprised if the voices of the characters are familiar for viewers of TCW series. The description of the mini-movie is:

A routine Jedi Academy field trip is turned into a rip-roaring comic adventure in LEGO Star Wars™: The Padawan Menace™. Tour guide Master Yoda leads a group of rambunctious Jedi younglings through Senate chambers when he senses a disturbance in the Force. Summoned to help save the Republic, he discovers that one of the younglings secretly boarded his ship…and has a taste for adventure! Meanwhile, C-3PO and R2-D2 are put in charge of the boisterous group and find themselves in over their heads. As the evil Sith prepare to wreak havoc, it’s up to Yoda and the droids to ensure that their young charges aren’t torn to bricks!”
