Galaxy’s Edge is delighting Star Wars fans at Disney Parks, giving them a chance to inhabit the far away galaxy for themselves. One highlight of the park is the exotic delicacies available to eat from around the Star Wars universe. Now fans don’t have to wait till they visit the park to try these. They just have to pick up a copy of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge: The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook.
The cookbook is more than just a collection of recipes, it’s an experience. The book begins with an introduction from Strono Tuggs, a frequent vendor of cuisine in Black Spire Outpost, who runs Tuggs’ Grub. He not only introduces himself and his culinary experience but he gives readers a tour of the Outpost, as well as the different establishments serving food and drink. This section of the book is full of illustrations that bring Black Spire Outpost to life, especially for those, like myself, that have not been able to visit yet.
The recipe section is broken up like many cookbooks:
- Condiments, Sauces & Garnishes
- Side, Starters & Snacks
- Soups & Stews
- Breads
- Main Courses
- Desserts
- Drinks
Almost every recipe is accompanied by a photograph of the dish and every recipe is given a background so the reader knows why Tuggs has chosen it for this cookbook and where in the galaxy he acquired it. This cookbook is very well put together and feels authentic to the Star Wars universe. Luckily for me, my wife likes to cook and so I cannot wait to request some Fried Endorian Tip-Yip and a Lothal Spicebrew. This cookbook makes an excellent gift for the Star Wars fan who loves food, or wants to accent a viewing party for the next episode of The Mandalorian. Whether you’ve visited the park and want to recreate your favorites at home, or you’ve never been and just want enjoy the foods from far, far away, this cookbook is for you. The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook is rated 4 our 5 stars.
