Star Wars Celebration Anaheim inspired many Star Wars fans around the globe. Images, news, and trailers from the event began streaming online almost immediately, and with that came the awe that inevitably goes hand in hand with watching Star Wars.
On May 4th, in Cape Town, South Africa, Chris Cape, a full time pop musician, found himself particularly inspired. After a long day of teaching guitar lessons, he sat down and let the creativity, (like the Force) flow. What came next, is a fun blend of fast lyrics, fun music, and STAR WARS.
Last year Chris Cape released a 10-track project for free download and it was a total success. Hoping to follow it up this year, he is working on material for a new album, as well as several single-track releases. But wanting to give back to the community that has so inspired him along the way, Chris is offering his fun new track “Mark Hamill Can Handle” for FREE!
As Chris Cape puts it:
I’m a Star Wars fan from Cape Town South Africa.
I’m also a full time pop musician. I write, produce, play guitar, sing and rap. I’m deep into the Expanded Universe as well as the movies and have found that SW fuels the creative mind in a unique way.
The recent overflow of SW7 excitement has found it’s way into my writing. I got home from a long day of teaching guitar on May 4th, sat down in my studio, messed around on my 80’s Japanese Casio keyboard, and let the inspiration flow into a new song. What came out was the song I’ve attached to this email.
“Mark Hamill Can Handle” is me talking about my anticipation of SW7. Like, “sheesh this Kylo dude looks hard core so I hope Luke can deal!”… and at the same time, “But dudes, it’s Luke Skywalker… of course he’s got this!” I love Mark Hamill and am hoping he’ll hear this song at some point!
So let’s spread this far and wide! If you like it, share it!
