Well Star Wars Celebration has been growing on all of our minds as the date comes closer. Indeed, we’re now less than a week away from the grand opening and I find myself getting more and more excited.
CV was a fantastic experience but I never really put my finger down on what specifically make a Star Wars celebration so special.
So I asked the good folks on twitter, what are you looking forward to at CVI? There seems to be a common theme…
@starwarsreport Friends, mostly. But getting to that saturation point where you have nothing but Star Wars music in your head, even in bed.

@starwarsreport #StarWarsCVI Mostly getting together with old friends and meet new ones that shared my love of #StarWars. And #StarWars1313! — Jose Ppo Rodriguez (@jlrodz) August 17, 2012
@starwarsreport Hanging with friends, rubbing shoulders with “celebs”, panels, warm weather, swimming pool, Disney, costumes, authors…

@starwarsreport seeing friends! Like you guys! — Shannon Hammerstrom(@purfeklilangel) August 17, 2012
@starwarsreport Meeting people I’ve only known through the internet or email. And Carrie Fisher! — Tricia Barr (@fangirlcantina) August 17, 2012
@starwarsreport Meeting new people/people I’ve only met online so far, and seeing what’s announced at the Del Rey panel.

It can be too easy to get caught up in a “MUST HAVE CVI STORE EXCLUSIVE, MUST GET THIS ITEM AUTOGRAPHED, MUST SEE THIS PANEL” type of mentality. However, if this becomes your main focus at CVI, you’ll miss the best part of a Star Wars Celebration. There are many great things about celebration, but the best time you’ll have, is hanging out with fellow Star Wars fans, and fellow friends.
