Getting Lost in the EU (1 of 3) – SWBTF #32

Greetings Fanboys, Fangirls, EU Fans, and returning Beyonders!
And welcome to Star Wars Beyond the Films!

This week true believers, your EU Guru; Nathan P. Butler, and The Defender of the EU; Mark Hurliman, take you on an adventure unlike any other, as they discuss John Jackson Miller’s Lost Tribe of the Sith: The Collected Stories.

Wait… what’s this? The hosts are moving?!

The stage is set, the hosts explore the  characters and themes of the first four ebooks.

Premium Trade- will it fit on the bookshelf? Is it worth it’s price? The hosts explain why they feel it is.

The collection takes a historical reader feeling. As well as a technology curve.

Mark gets a little tongue tied over Kesh. It’s not Kresh Mark…

Mark focuses on the map at the beginning of the book, and how Del Rey should bring maps back to every SWEU novel. He also found the book for $7.14

The hosts talk brotherly love Korsin style.

The Korsin arc has a very Hamlet feel to it, with Seelah being one evil Sith bad-girl…

Sith just can’t get over themselves. A reoccurring theme in the Sith. John Jackson Miller explores the Sith dynamic in a way that is refreshing to read, and it works even better as a collected stories. It has a trilogy feel overall. The first four stories, then the next four, and wraps up with Pandemonium which is sixteen chapters as well.

Nathan points out that Seelah isn’t the only plotting lady in the story, Adari herself has a few hidden plots herself.

Did Luke take a tip from the Sith in Return of the Jedi? Use your magic!

You also have until Celebration VI to like our Facebook page for a chance to win Mark’s (once-read) hardcover of Star Wars: Fatal Alliance. On the first day of Celebration VI, one of our “Facebook friends” will be chosen at random to win!

Another must listen episode with your dynamic duo, way too much to cover in one set of shownotes, nay show itself. So the guys will be spreading this great book over three whole episodes! Enjoy and may the Force be with you!
